It's called "The Plan of HAPPIness"

On Sunday, January 18, 2009, my family lost a very dear friend.

The hardest one hit was my brother. He lost a best friend.

I won't go into all the details, but I know to some extent what he's feeling. But I think the hardest part of all is that Mike didn't have the knowledge of the Plan like we do. He left behind a wife and young son, and they don't know the Plan either.

I'm so grateful that I know of my Heavenly Father's most beautiful Plan of Happiness. I don't see a point to life without it.

I know that this life is not the end. I know that families can be together forever

But you know what? That's not very much comfort when you lose someone you love.

Don't get me wrong, that knowledge is the greatest comfort to me. It lets me know that everything will be alright, that there is a purpose. But to the human heart {and limited mind capabilities} that knowledge does not immediately sooth the aching.

You see, the best part of this Plan, is that when you feel so alone... that no one really knows what you, yourself, are feeling...you're wrong. There is someone who knows, and oh! He knows better than you can comprehend.

That's why I call Him Savior, Redeemer, and Friend.

Through His atoning sacrifice, Jesus Christ knows you. He knows me. And He knows exactly what pains we feel, what joys, what triumphs. He knows our grief, our sorrows, our guilt. He knows because He felt them, for each of us, individually

I know that Jesus Christ knows me. He loves me, and He wants me to be happy. He has truly lightened my burdens, and carried me in my grief.

Isaiah 49:15-16...

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."

And that's why it is called the Plan of Happiness. Because Jesus Christ suffered what He did, because He overcame temporal death, we can be truly Happy. If we follow in His ways, and return to Him.

  2. Kylie! What a beautiful post! That is my favorite scripture! I love knowing that my Savior will never forget me and that He is always there and does know just how I feel. I agree-that is the most beautiful part of the Plan! Know our prayers are with your family and his!
